We met in front of the pier entrance. The captain personally welcomed the guests and, using the resident cards of the Sopot Marina, allowed the group to board. At the Sopot Marina, after a brief introduction to the yacht and a safety briefing, we set off for Hel.

The motorboat engines soon gained full power and bravely cut through the waters of the Gdańsk Bay. The views were stunning: both the rapidly receding Sopot and the ships waiting at anchor to enter the port. Their proximity was awe-inspiring. We were also impressed by the speed with which we were cruising on the motor yacht, effortlessly overtaking a large Gdańsk Shipping cruise ship. The Saxdor 320GTC is a beautiful and fast motor yacht.

We also visited the very tip of Poland to see the Hel Peninsula from the water and experience the “Beginning of Poland.” Here, at the very start of the country, in Hel, lies the so-called Kashubian Mound – a symbol of Poland’s beginning. We reached Hel from Sopot in about 30 minutes. Once in Hel’s port, we spent a leisurely time on the yacht, celebrating Children’s Day and reminiscing about the times when we were still little kids ourselves. We opened the deck terrace at the stern and laid out comfortable cushions. We sipped elegant, delicious kombucha with a passion fruit flavor – it was better than champagne – on the comfortable motor yacht, everything tastes better, especially in the Port of Hel. This year, a fee was introduced, and docking in Hel’s port is charged immediately upon arrival, so the captain paid the required 40 PLN fee.

After the dynamic crossing of the bay from Sopot to Gdańsk and a relaxing time aboard the Saxdor 320GTC motor yacht, we took a short walk to the Alternatywa Bar, located just 3 minutes from the port! Very close, very tasty, and at affordable prices. The owner, originally from Ghana, served us a spicy African fish soup with peanuts and bellona. It’s the season for bellona fish right now. It’s a very interesting fish with a slender body and… green-blue bones.

We were also enchanted by the African hibiscus lemonade – we each had two! I’m describing African dishes, although the main menu consists of the most popular Kashubian dishes. However, that day, we were in the mood for something different and exotic. The boys, both big and small, were thrilled.
