We set off aboard the Saxdor 320GTC motorboat from Sopot to Gdańsk for a relaxed and memorable team-building experience. There were seven of us, along with two crew members. The energy was high from the start. On the pier, we took a few quick photos, shared some laughs, and came up with plenty of spontaneous ideas. Once on board, we were welcomed with chilled Prosecco, a refined touch that set the tone for the evening.

We departed just as the sun began to dip below the horizon. The cruise started with an exciting ride across the bay as the captain steered the yacht into tight spins. The engines roared, we cheered, and the thrill of the moment took over.

As we entered the port area, the sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The golden light reflected off the water, creating perfect conditions for stunning photos. Our cameras worked non-stop, capturing scenes that were made for Instagram.

The evening was filled with storytelling and laughter. What made it truly special was having not only our current team on board but also some of our former colleagues. Reconnecting after so long brought back a wave of shared memories and nostalgia.

Cruising through the Gdańsk port, we passed the impressive ORP Gen. T. Kościuszko, proudly anchored and standing tall. Massive ships surrounded us, and the port cranes framed the skyline with industrial beauty. We stopped briefly at the Imperial Shipyard to pick up another teammate waiting at the marina.

Continuing on, we admired the historic WL4 Mleczny Piotr building and the intriguing sculptures titled “Castaways” by Czesław Podleśny, rising dramatically from the water.

As we moved along the Motława River, the landscape shifted from industrial to charming. On the left, Ołowianka Island stood out with the graceful Philharmonic building. We passed under the footbridge and cruised by the Sołdek museum ship. On the right, rows of picturesque townhouses lined the waterfront, guiding us toward the iconic Żuraw Crane, the historic wooden port gate of Gdańsk.

We eventually turned toward Marina Gdańsk and arrived at Szafarnia, where yachts swayed gently along the banks of the river. From this vantage point, we admired the newly built tenement houses on Granary Island.

Even though we live in the Tri-City, seeing it all from the water gave us a fresh and unexpected perspective. A river cruise is definitely the best way to take in this view.

As our motorboat adventure came to an end, the evening was just beginning. We disembarked at the marina and strolled over to Chleb i Wino for a delicious dinner in a cozy, welcoming setting. What happened after that? We’ll keep it a secret. But it’s safe to say the cruise was the perfect beginning to a night full of unforgettable moments.
