CruiseMyBay supports the 7th Charity Regatta of Rotary Club Gdańsk Centrum in Sopot
On September 7, 2024, the CruiseMyBay team proudly joined the 7th edition of the Charity Regatta, organized by the Rotary Club Gdańsk Centrum in Sopot. Aboard the Saxdor 320GTC motorboat, we had the pleasure of being part of this meaningful event on the water.
It was a beautiful, sunny day. Though a bit more wind would have pleased the sailors, the atmosphere was vibrant. Families and friends gathered in large numbers to cheer on their teams. Our crew added to the excitement by cruising right up close to the competing yachts, giving spectators a front-row view of the action. The experience was simply unforgettable. We’ve always admired the grace and energy of sailing. It’s a sport close to our hearts, especially since Captain Iwo Reński spent 12 years racing in the Optimist class and later the Laser class. Sailing combines thrill and discipline, and it demands courage, determination, and a deep love for the water. determination, and a deep love for the water.
During the regatta, we completed four cruises aboard the Saxdor 320GTC, departing from Sopot Marina. Each trip took guests around the Bay of Gdańsk, bringing them just meters from the racing yachts, close
enough to feel the energy of the competition.
In the span of four hours, we welcomed around 30 guests onboard. Many were family members of the competitors, who enjoyed the rare opportunity to watch the race up close and capture some truly special photos.
At one point, the wind disappeared entirely, halting the race. That’s when our motorboat stepped in to assist, towing one of the RS21 yachts back to the starting line so the event could continue smoothly.
It was a day well spent. The regatta brought together sportsmanship, good conversations, and new friendships. Most importantly, the event once again raised funds for Mrowisko, an environmental aid organization based in Gdańsk. Mrowisko supports children at risk of social exclusion and does incredible work that we are proud to support. For CruiseMyBay, it was an honor to take part in this event. If the organizers call on us again next year, we will be more than happy to join them once more in supporting such a worthy cause.
